“Blood Group Glycosyltransferases : Structure-Function Insights from Natural and Unnatural Evolution”

Our research in mechanistic enzymology employs stereochemical, kinetic and spectroscopic techniques to obtain a detailed molecular description of enzyme reactions. Primary research currently is focused on glycosyltransferases and glycosidases involved in the biosynthesis of oligosaccharides and includes their use in enzymatic synthesis of oligosaccharides and oligosaccharide analogs, the design and evaluation of glycosyltransferase inhibitors and assay development, including single cell enzymology. However, we also have contributions in the characterization of amine oxidases, decarboxylases, transaminases, nucleases, catalases and proteases.
