« Investigating Dopamine Dynamics in the Brain with High Resolution Electrochemistry »

Dopamine is a highly significant neurotransmitter/neuromodulator in the mammalian CNS that, by virtue of its structure, can be analyzed by electrochemistry. The carbon fiber microelectrode (radius=2.5um) enables very high spatial and temporal resolution measurements of dopamine in living brain tissues. Voltammetric measurements, in conjunction with fluorescence and EM imaging of the tissue measurement sites, are providing novel insights into dynamic aspects of dopamine’s neurochemical function.
