Emilie Munnier is a full professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Tours, where she has been teaching pharmaceutical technology and cosmetology for over fifteen years. She is a permanent researcher at UPR CNRS 4301, the Center for Molecular Biophysics, within the Nanomedicine and Nanoprobes department.

After earning her pharmacy degree, she completed a PhD in Life and Health Sciences at the University of Tours, focusing on nanotechnologies for healthcare, and obtained her habilitation to supervise research in 2016.

With expertise in formulation and analytical chemistry, she currently leads the Innovative and Sustainable Cosmetic Formulations and Ingredients research group. She has directed public and private collaborative projects focused on the encapsulation of active compounds to enhance their skin penetration and control their interaction with ingredients in pharmaceutical or cosmetic products. She has also contributed to projects aimed at improving skin analysis through spectroscopic methods to elucidate mechanisms of action and assess formulation effectiveness.

Since 2022, she has led the DES4Skin collaborative project funded by the French national research agency (ANR) dedicated to studying the use of natural deep eutectic solvents in skin formulations to improve their performance.
