Jean-Marc Bonmatin invited to present by OPECST at the Senate on 15 January
Jean-Marc Bonmatin questioned in the Senate by the Parliamentary Office for the Evaluation of Scientific and Technological Choices (OPECST).
Following the controversy surrounding the Duplomb bill last summer, J.-M. Bonmatin was invited to present his work on neonicotinoid insecticides, including acetamiprid, which had been proposed for reintroduction. For the record, this reintroduction had sparked widespread opposition before being invalidated by the Constitutional Council.
The hearing of J.-M. Bonmatin kicked off a series of hearings with scientists and medical representatives. He was able to present the topic of neonicotinoids in detail, covering their modes of action on living organisms, their impacts on the environment, biodiversity and health, as well as agronomic alternatives and regulatory aspects.
